Dad's House

Today, Uncle Raymond took me to visit the house Dad grew up in!  Dad built the fence that runs around the house when he was younger.  We didn't go in, but here are the photos I took of the outside.

Down this street used to be a field where Dad and Uncle Raymond use to go play cricket.

; )

P.S.  It is currently 84 degrees with a lovely breeze and a clear blue sky in New Amsterdam, Guyana.  I checked the weather channel online, and I see that it's 42 degrees in both NY and DE and 30 degrees in Bloomington.  I don't want to gloat too much because I know it'll be a shock to return in December, but I can't help but rub it in a little!

Uncle Raymond's Shop - J's Supermarket

Uncle Raymond owns a big supermarket in New Amsterdam.  The store is on the first floor, the storage room is on the second, and they live on the third.  The supermarket has a lot of the same things as U.S. stores plus a lot of local goods.  Uncle Raymond and Auntie Rita have three kids, Jason, Jermaine, and Julia.  Right now, only Uncle Raymond, Jason, and Melissa (Jason's wife) are living at home.  Jermaine and Julia are in New York going to college, and Auntie Rita is visiting them.  Auntie Rita should be coming home tomorrow.  Below are some photos of J's Supermarket.

For the Christmas season, they're selling ornaments, flowers, and other decorations in front of the store
